Dead to Sin

Romans 6:6 knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin. 

When we became believers Christ looks at us as righteousness and holiness we are set apart but that does not mean we're not going to sin, but we should strive for holiness and righteousness in how we live because we were crucified with Christ so that sin might be done away with. 

Everyday we are bombarded by temptations although Christ has given us many tools to fight through these temptations. We are not perfect but we are transformed and renewed in our minds daily through the word of God and the Holy Spirit who is indwelled in us to help us live and strive each day to be what God wants us to be. 

‭Galatians 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. 

‭Galatians 5:24 And those who  are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 

‭Romans 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. 

‭Ephesians 6:11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

‭I Peter 1:14-16 

[14] as obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts, as in your ignorance; [15] but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, [16] because it is written, “Be holy, for I am holy.”

Heavenly Father even though we are not perfect we strive for the way you look at us righteousness and holiness. We thank you for the many tools that you have given us to fight temptations on a daily basis. Thank you for your word and Holy Spirit that is indwelled in us. In Jesus name Amen
