As we go through our struggles in life most of the time we want to see if we can do it on our own. For example when I was going through a struggle years ago I tried everything I could to solve it on my own but with no success. The more I tried the more frustrated I got.
You have not yet resisted to bloodshed, striving against sin.
Hebrews 12:4 NKJV
Going at it alone is never going to work, but by depending on God and being accountable with others it can work and that's what God wants you to do. He wants you to depend on him and trust him with faith that he will see you through this struggle. Now don't get me wrong doing things on your own is fine as long as you are depending on God first for his strength and power
So how do we depend on God? how do we remind ourselves that God is the big picture in all this? The first thing you do is pray. Prayer is your number one priority in getting through a struggle because it shows God that you want his help. Ask God for his strength because God is the almighty sovereign God that will give you strength when you ask and it shows that you are depending on him and not just yourself
For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.
Philippians 4:13
But when you're going through your struggle always think and ask God in your quiet moment why you might be going through this struggle. Listen for him and shut everything else out of your mind and concentrate on his voice.
The next thing you want to do is always stay in the word of God. The word of God will help you and encourage you as well as showing you conviction as you go through your struggle. Also meditate on scripture as you are meditating ask God what this means and listen for his voice to respond.
Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path.
Psalms 119:105 NKJV
And I repeat this again always include someone in your life that you could trust in your struggle. Even though depending on God is the most important thing remember that God puts other Brother's and Sister's in Christ in your life for a reason.
Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.
James 5:16 NKJV
In your struggles be patient and trust in your heavenly Father, depend on him. Again as I repeat always ask God for strength and let him do the rest.
