1 Timothy 1:17
Your time on earth is so precious, but that time is very limited. We are only here for a very short time. I can't believe I'm 60 years old. WOW!
We are all very busy, with working, weekend entertainment, kids sports events, and much much more. But through all this busyness God is trying to get your attention, it may be something you see on TV, at your work place, through a love one, or at weekly church. Remember just because you can't see God doesn't mean he is not there.
A relationship with Jesus doesn't just mean going to church weekly and that's it. He wants your heart all the time, and it can be very simple as:
Praying - this doesn't have to be complicated. Pick your time to pray in a quiet place, before going to sleep and waking up in the morning. Be honest with him. Thank him for all the blessings he has given you over the years, thank him for waking you up in the morning, thank him for giving you strength to make it through the hectic day, thank him for a healthy family, for saving you, for the food you eat, the clothes on your back. Pray about world peace, pray about our leaders around the world to make the right decisions for peace, confess your sins, pray about a love one or friend that needs healing. There's all kinds of things you can pray for. Most of all just be honest with him.
Bible Reading -Most people have a Bible, but if some reason you just don't have one there are thousands of apps that you can download on your phone. I have one on my phone, I go to that when I want to search for a particular verse. Pick a verse and meditate on it over and over and apply it to your life. God is speaking to you. The word of God is where you can get the answer you are looking for. To get to know more about your creator I would suggest the following:
And remember I hear this so many times. I can't understand the Bible. If you have issues with that remember technology is a good thing. You can always compare translations. The point here is to start somewhere.
1. Read one chapter from the Gospel of John each day
2. Second, read Acts, the exciting story of how Jesus Christ’s first disciples told others about how He died and rose again.
3.Third, read the letters that Christ’s apostles wrote to His first followers—all who were new in their faith. These letters are the book of Romans through the book of III John.
4. Fourth, go back and read one of the other three gospels: Matthew, Mark or Luke.
Quiet time alone with your creator - this is where you could just talk to God as a friend and as your Father. This is when you want to open up to him about anything you want to say.
Thankfulness: Thank God throughout your day. Thanking him for the meals that you eat every day, the clothes on your back, the house that you're living in, for the air that you breathe, for the rain that he gives to make your grass green. The point is thank him for a lot of different things. God loves you and he is a good listener.
I can go into many many more things but this is just the basics. a good way to start
let us" draw near to God with a heart of faith.
They will receive the Lord ’s blessing and have a right relationship with God their savior.
Psalms 24:5
Thank you Lord for making me your Child where I can just talk to you anytime and about everything in my life. I know my time is limited Lord on this earth so I want to give you my attention and just tell you how thankful I am for you being in my life and filling me with your love, peace, and joy throughout the day and week. In Jesus name Amen
